Hi I'm Shane Miller

I grew up in California. I'm currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love service.

About Me

I love to read and write fiction, as well as play sports. I received my Eagle Scout Award at the age of 14 and received two eagle palms before aging out of Boy Scouts. I went to community college at the age of 16 and transferred to BYU Provo, but deferred for two years as I serve a mission in Wichita Kansas. I plan on majoring in management with a strategy emphasis when I return. I'm a hard worker and like to think creatively to solve problems.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have fervently prayed and sincerely sought to know if the church was true. I have felt the Spirit strongly throughout my life and can see the Lord's work in everything. I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he translated the Book of Mormon in accordance with God's will and that it goes in hand with the Bible. I believe and sustain the Church's current prophet and apostles as seers and revelators. I believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior, Redeemer, and Mediator and that he died on the cross so that we have the opportunity to receive a remission of our sins through the Atonement. I believe that through the Plan of Salvation, we have the ability to become perfect through Christ after we are resurrected. I believe that we came from the pre-mortal existence and accepted Heavenly Father's plan and that is why we are here now. I believe we are here to learn and grow because of Heavenly Father's love for us and desire for us to become like Him.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday and am currently serving a full-time mission. I pray and read the scriptures on a daily basis. I strive to be the best I can be and encourage others to do the same.
