Hi I'm Caitlin

I'm a cellist. I have type one diabetes. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have the most awesome family -- we bond by belting Disney songs and laughing outrageously loud. I've played cello for years and I love to teach music lessons to young students. I'm currently a student at BYU but am taking a break from my studies to serve a mission in Southern Texas, speaking Spanish!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into a Mormon family and have attended the church my entire life, I still needed to come to know the truth for myself. I am Mormon because I have felt in my heart that Christ lives and this is His true church.

How I live my faith

I love to play my cello at church to share my personal feelings of my Savior Jesus Christ through music. During my high school years, I served as a representative for my particular congregation on a youth committee. We planned wholesome activities for youth across northern New Mexico. Every time we planned an activity, we tried to find ways to help the youth feel welcomed and know that they are loved by others around them and also by their Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

The scriptures are like a road map for our lives. The teach us how to become closer to our loving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. They guide us to become more like them each and every day. Daily reading of the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures will bring peace and comfort to our lives, as well as happiness and an increased capacity to love others and to feel God's love for us. What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The gift of the Holy Ghost is something that has blessed my life in so many ways. It has brought me peace and comfort when I struggled with big things, like struggling through difficult relationships, and through little things, such as struggling with a homework assignment. The Holy Ghost is able to guide and comfort those who sincerely seek Him. Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Our Heavenly Father knew that we would inevitably make mistakes in this life - and when we make mistakes, we are unable to live with Him. Because He loves us so much, He provided a Savior for us - His Son, Jesus Christ - to suffer for all the sins in the world. Only through Jesus Christ can we be washed clean of our mistakes and once again dwell in the presence of Heavenly Father. Without a Savior, we are stuck. We may be able to learn about worldly things, but without Christ we are unable to progress in the things that really matter. Christ makes it possible for us to progress spiritually. He came down to bring us all back up with Him. Through Him, we can live on this higher plane. Show more Show less
