Hi I'm Sierra

I'm from Boston and Georgia, I love hockey, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the kind of person that is always busy doing something. You can usually find me outdoors, doing something artsy, or something spontaneous. I did two years at Brigham Young University studying to become a school Psychologist, but now I have put college on hold so that I can serve a mission. I was called to serve in Washington, D.C. and it is going to be amazing!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converted twenty years ago when sister missionaries knocked on their door. Little did they know that the joining the church was the best decision they would ever make. The gospel of Jesus Christ has been the source of every good thing in my life. It has helped me through all of my most difficult times and has made me a better person. Since I was five years old, I have been preparing to serve a full-time mission just so I can teach people about Jesus Christ and how they can find everlasting joy and happiness.

How I live my faith

I love going to church every Sunday and learning about my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am currently preparing to serve a full-time mission for the church and I couldn't be more excited!

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Sierra
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (sometimes referred to as Mormons) believe the Bible to be the word of God and regard it as holy scripture. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and another testament of Jesus Christ. It makes sense that God would not limit His teachings just to the ancient Jews, but that He would reach out to other nations. The Book of Mormon is a record of God's dealings with the ancient inhabitants on the American continent from around 2000BC-400AD. The Book of Mormon does not diminish or take away from the Bible, but helps to complete and solidify its message. I have read the Book of Mormon six or seven times, and I know for myself that it is true. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Sierra
Members of the church are often distinguishable because of the way they live. We believe in being honest, benevolent, virtuous, and doing good to all men. We love and worship God, our Heavenly Father, and seek to follow His commandments. Prayer, scripture study, and attending church help us to feel true happiness and teach us how to become more like our Savior, Jesus Christ. We do this by following His example of loving and serving people around us. Because the gospel has brought us such deep happiness and peace, we love to share it with others so they too can experience this wonderful joy. Show more Show less
