Hi I'm Patrick

I grew up in a military family. I'm leaving on a full-time mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of three children. My father is in the U.S. Army so I have moved around quite a bit throughout my childhood and teenage years. I am a recent High School graduate and am preparing to serve a full-time mission. I like reading, running, exploring, hiking, and playing the piano. I love learning and getting to know people.

Why I am a Mormon

As the son of two Mormons, I grew up in the church. However, there came a time in my early teenage years when I realized that I needed to make a decision on what path I would take. Would I follow the teachings ingrained in me as a child or would I make my own path? I began to ponder this question often. I decided to test what I had been taught: I read the Book of Mormon for the first time, all the while praying to know of its truthfulness. I received a strong impression, long before I had finished the book, that it is the word of God, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the Mormon Church) is the restored church of Jesus Christ on the earth today, that Jesus Himself is at its head, and that my greatest chance of true and lasting happiness was in living the principles of the gospel. The witness that I received was not a sudden and intense manifestation, but rather it was a slow but real strengthening of what I had already known. So, since that witness, I have done my best to only strengthen my testimony of the gospel, although there have been times where that testimony has been tried. I know that I chose the right path.

How I live my faith

I try to keep the commandments and fulfill my church responsibilities by representing Christ at all times, serving others, participating in church activities, and building family and friend relationships. I try to make those around me happier and to bring them closer to God and to their families. Each day I try to strengthen my bond with my Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ by studying the scriptures, praying to my Heavenly Father, and sharing what I learn with family and friends.
