Hi I'm Ragena

I was born in Utah, grew up in Idaho, Utah, and Canada. I love music, reading, camping, art and I am a Mormon

About Me

I am a wife, mother of 6 wonderful children, and grandmother of 19 wonderful grandchildren. I grew up in Idaho, Utah, and spent a couple of years in Alberta, Canada as a youth. I learned for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints is the true church as a youth and have never doubted it since. While living in Canada, there were only 2 Mormons in my Jr High School and 3 or 4 in my High School. I was so glad I had the beliefs and standards I did then. I know that my beliefs and standards kept me out of a lot of heartache. I never felt totally alone, even when I was the only one present that believed as I did. I had many non-member friends and I respected their beliefs and they respected mine. As a mother, I have tried to teach my children to believe in God, stay honest and kind, be law-abiding citizens and love others. We love spending time together as a family, playing games, camping, fishing, hunting, walks in the park, and music of all kinds. I have recently started painting and I am loving it.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During my life my husband and I have faced many challenges that others face including illness, death, cancer, a severe car accident, and other family challenges. Prayer has been an integral part of being able to handle those challenges. Peace has come from knowing that this life is not the end and that I will see my loved ones again. I know God has a plan for each one of us and He knows us each by name. He loves us. He knows our struggles, fears, and joys and He wants us to be happy. I know the Book of Mormon is a second witness to the Bible that Jesus is the Christ and that He lived and died for us to provide us a way back home. I want to share that peace and joy with others.

How I live my faith

I currently play the piano and organ for my local church congregation and teach a group of 7 year olds on Sunday. I have also worked with the youth and with the women's organization in the past. I have loved working in these organizations and learning to love different people from different backgrounds. We all have something to give each other and I have learned much from them all. My husband and I love this church and have recently been called on a mission to Australia. We are so excited to serve there.
