Hi I'm Courtney

I love the color yellow. I want to be an Actuary. I'm a runner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with my parents and my awesome younger brother. My family and I are really close and I love spending time with them. Thanks to my mom's love for running, I ran Cross Country and Track in High School and I still run most days with my mom, with friends, or on my own. I am a college student and I am pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science. Actuaries have the coolest job in the world if you ask me, they use statistics to calculate risk and ultimately figure out how much we all pay for insurance. I love math and statistics and I'm excited as I pursue this degree. Something interesting about me is that I like to do calligraphy(fancy schmancy writing). My Grandma taught me how to do calligraphy and I enjoy expressing my creative side in this way.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my whole life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is something that I have been taught since I was very young. The knowledge that I have of God and the plan that He has for me and for all of His children gives me a perspective that allows me to make decisions and live my life in a way that is consistent with this plan and that will allow me to return to live with God, my Heavenly Father. I find so much hope and happiness in knowing that I can live with God, and my family after this life. Through prayer and the grace of God, available through of the atonement of Jesus Christ, I have felt comfort, peace, strength, and the love of God during difficult times in my life. I know that these blessings can come to everyone as we are obedient to the commandments given to us by God. I am grateful for God's commandments. He knows me better than I know myself and as such, His commandments are better for me than any pattern of life I could fashion for myself.

How I live my faith

At this point in my life, I am taking a break from college to serve an 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Ukraine. During this time I get to learn to speak Russian so I can communicate with the people in Ukraine. My purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come unto Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed me and my family so greatly that it is natural for me to want to share this with other people. I would feel selfish if I didn't share something this wonderful with others.
