Hi I'm Maddie Hanson

I am from California. I'm serving a mission in Russia Yekaterinburg. I love puppy pictures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Bay Area in California and went to a very small high school. I love theatre, music, piano, volleyball, and serving others.I love being with friends and looking at pictures of pugs and other adorable dogs. I am attending college at BYU in Provo and will serve in the Russia Yekaterinburg Mission starting June 1. I don't know Russian yet but I'm excited to get learning! After my mission, I will continue studying Elementary Education at Brigham Young University.

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion story is a long process that has been going on since I was born into the church. At first, church was something I went to because I was a child and that's where my parents took me. However, at some point, continuing to follow the gospel is a decision everyone has to make for themselves. Reading the Book of Mormon and praying about its truthfulness has been one of the greatest ways I have been able to gain a testimony for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. I feel such peace and comfort and have received many answers through its pages. I know that it is the word of God, translated by Joseph Smith and meant for our world today. Most importantly, I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He is the Son of God who came down to earth to sacrifice Himself so that He can know how to comfort us, forgive us, help us. I know that my Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers. I know that striving to be worthy of the Spirit and its guidance will bring great happiness and peace.

How I live my faith

I have grown up in the church, enjoying not only the joy and truth of the gospel, but the fellowship and sense of community being part of the church brings. I have the privilege to soon begin a mission for 18 months in Russia Yekaterinburg. It will be a time for me to live my faith to the fullest every single day as I search for those who are ready to accept the gospel in their lives. I look forward to being able to study the scriptures more diligently and serve my Heavenly Father daily.
