Hi I'm Tyson Crittenden

I'm a student at BYU-Idaho. I love the Kingdom Hearts video game series. I love anime like Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently at BYU-Idaho earning my Bachelor's Degree in English Education and Health Education. I am kind-hearted and patient with others. I have a very easy-going personality and I strive to connect with people and have long-lasting friendships with them. I absolutely love anime, video games (especially Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy), reading books, and watching movies. I love to play the Yugioh card game, and Magic the Gathering. I love to cook too, I can make pretty good meals and desserts when I have the time. My goals in life are: to be a 6-12 grade teacher, fantasy fiction writer, and a Firefighter-EMT. I've served a mission in the Utah Salt Lake City Headquarters Mission. I love to ski, and am trying to learn to snowboard. My favorite sports are golf, tennis, and soccer. I love dogs and cats (and birds like Lorikeets or Parrots). I am grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and I strive every day to follow His will and timing. He has guided me through some of my darkest times while I was on my mission. And by the time I finished my mission, I was able to really find myself and be the person that the Lord wants me to be. I hope to find a wonderful young woman to take to the Temple and be sealed together for time and all eternity, and with the Lord's help, I know that I will find her.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the the Church for my whole life, and I can see that each challenge and trial that comes my way has shaped me and tuned me towards the love and trust of the Master's hand. I am becoming a great person through service to others and especially making friends along the way. The Lord has blessed me in this life and he is tuning me as His instrument so that my part in this big symphony of life can be heard by many and possibly touch the heart of someone that needs to hear the wonderful spirit that the Gospel brings. I know that without the touch of the Master's hand, my worth as a child of God would be different if I hadn't made the choice long ago to be with Him.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving an LDS Mission in Salt Lake City, Utah. I serve in the Family and Church History Headquarters Mission, where Family History work is a big focus. I have helped so many people with completing their family trees that I can say it has been wonderful to be in the service of others. I have been serving for 15 months so far and I can say that it has taught me many lessons, and I have learned how to improve my attitude towards others by leaving the less important things behind and focusing on serving others. When I'm around other people I try and show my example by the way I act, especially with my kinds and gentle personality. My kindness towards others helps them feel more open towards me and can talk with me whenever they need me.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Tyson Crittenden
Many times I have seen friends that have fallen prey to the destructive poison of pornography. This type of thing can be harmful and it tempts us to misuse and minimize the importance of our bodies and the power to create life that was given to us by our Heavenly Father. When I do get married, I hope that I will meet someone who has the same standards of respect for privacy and cleanliness that I do. Pornography has become a worldwide threat to society, and any time I hear about its destructive influence, it makes me want to be a helper in stopping it. I want any who read this to know that if you really want to stop pornography, influence others around you by encouraging them to stay away from it and avoid it completely. Sure you may see it accidentally on occasion, and if you do see it, make sure that you avoid it. Like the water hazards and sand traps on a golf course pornography also needs to be avoided or removed from our lives if we want to keep our goals clear and have a greater desire to return to our Heavenly Father.
