Hi I'm Matt Goodman Robinson Jr.

I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. I am an Eagle Scout. I am a missionary serving in Rancagua,Chile. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is techniquely Matt, however, I am known by MJ. I have two older sisters and one young as well as two loving parents. Its safe to say that i have been utterly outnumbered in my household throughout the years. My first love in this world, besides my family and the gospel, was basketball. I began playing as a young child and played varsity basketball for my school where i was the only LDS member on the team. I also played Varsity volleyball as well as running Track. I have to admit that i am a mama's boy in every way imaginable.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm not going to tell you some amazing convert story. I was born in the church to a good, supporting, and faithful family. I will tell you why I have stayed in the church... This gospel has supplied me with more happiness and peace than i ever thought was possible. Throughout all the trials life may have to throw at you i have had two main foot holds to help me keep my head up: my family and the gospel. the fact that i can be with my family forever has comforted me when my sister moved away with her husband and niece. keep this in mind, my family is extremely tight knitted. This fact also supplied me with peace when i came to the realization that i am going to be leaving my family for two years. i know whatever happens to myself or them that we will all eventually be together in eternal life. the atonement is real. Christ died on the cross for me and you that we may be made whole again. whatever feelings of self doubt or pain can be washed away through Christ. he is your older brother who wants to look out for you, so let him.

How I live my faith

I am one of the few members of the church in my area, however, those members who do live with me have strong testimonies. We have had to turn to our Heavenly Father as well as each other often times for support. With being involved in sports as much as I am I find myself playing in tournaments frequently. Nearly every single one without fail has carried over to a Sunday where i was forced to make a decision: keep the Sabbath day holy or play in the championship game. Every single time i chose to keep the Sabbath holy, despite letting my team down. Facing this trial has helped me grow and appreciate Sundays even more now. I am one of the assistants in my age group and have recently received my mission call to Chile. I am willing to give a tithe of my life to serve the lord completely and help those find true happiness that can only be found through the gospel.
