Hi I'm Terry

I'm a builder, from sets to families, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love running, reading, hiking, and learning. I love shooting hoops, waking up early, sharing the gospel through music, and walking through life with my friends and family. I just finished my freshman year of college where I studied exercise science and am now preparing to serve a mission in Mexico. I love serving in the temple and finding new ways to lift those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a loving and faithful family. I was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the age of 8, but was not truly converted until my teenage years. I grew my conviction and faith little by little. "That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, recieveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day" (Doctrine and Covenants 50:24). I read my scriptures, prayed, and followed the prophet. These small acts brought peace to my soul and gave me glimpses of what glorious blessings are in store for those that believe. As time went on I had to rely on these simple experiences to remember my Savior and His goodness. Trials came and I chose to anchor my faith. My family participated in the Nauvoo Pageant 3 different times as I was growing up. It was there that I learned more of the gospel through music and felt the Spirit burning within me more than ever before. It bore witness to me that there is a God that knows me, loves me, and is watching over me. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a gospel of change and transformation. We are given light little by little, and as we exercise faith in Jesus Christ we receive even greater light. The testimony I have gained over the years, and continue to develop, is my greatest possession. Our Heavenly Father wants us to live with Him forever and has provided a way for us to return to that Heavenly Home if we will only choose to believe. I am so grateful for the beautiful opportunity we have to BECOME as He is, to live joyfully, and sing "Hallelujah" as we come unto Him and recognize His tender mercies.

How I live my faith

My faith encompasses everything that I am. I live my faith by striving to serve the Lord and His children. In all things I yearn to follow the Spirit and thereby walk in the footsteps of my Savior, Jesus Christ. As I have followed the promptings of the Holy Ghost and studied the life of the Savior I have found courage and greater resolve to follow His admonition to, "Look unto me in every thought, doubt not, fear not" (Doctrine and Covenants 6:36). I live my faith by being a gentle friend, carrying a prayer in my heart, putting the Lord first in my life, and trusting that He is guiding my feet today and always.
