Hi I'm Nathan Johnson

I grew up in England. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a massive Nottingham Forest supporter who also loves football and boxing. I live with my Dad, Mum and older brother who are all Mormons too. I desire to be a full time football coach at a high level as I have a passion for the sport.

Why I am a Mormon

My Dad grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and introduced my Mum to the church, she was soon baptised and later they were married for all time and eternity. Growing up I used my parents testimony of the gospel as a foundation of my belief, which I have since built upon. I know that God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost are separate beings who exist and help me each day. I know that the commandments and principles I strive to keep on a day to day basis makes me a stronger and better person. I don't know who and where I would be as a person without the church and I feel truly blessed to have it in my life.

How I live my faith

I live the gospel by prioritising my church commitments daily. Such commitments include; visiting and supporting families and individuals of the congregation, attending church meetings weekly and representing and supporting young single adults whilst trying to be more Christ like. Even as a member of the church, I find it challenging sometimes to choose the right. For example, I have had opportunities to play football at a high level however this would have prevented me from attending church meetings. Today I have no regrets with the decisions that I have made as I know that God has blessed me for doing what is right. In the future I plan to continue living my faith even when barriers and challenges come my way that try to distract me from what I know is right.

One of the greatest reasons for being here on earth is to "have joy" (2 Nephi 2:25). Personal prayer, scripture study, and attending church helps us better understand that the best way to find joy and happiness in this life is to know about Our Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to strive to keep God's "law" (Proverbs 29:18). Families are an essential part of God's Plan and much of how we live focuses on our families. We want to share the happiness we enjoy with everyone we can through service, missionary work, and contributing to society. Show more Show less
