Hi I'm Whitney

I grew up in Utah. I play the piano and the violin and music is important to me as well as service. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated with my Associates. I have a huge appreciation for the arts and the talents of others. I enjoy watching plays, concerts, and shows of any sorts. Growing up, my family encouraged all of their kids to learn how to play the piano as well as any other instrument that they desired. I picked up the violin and have loved string instruments ever since, particularly the cello. Besides music I love serving my community as well as internationally. I had the opportunity to go to Cambodia and learn about the people, their culture and their history. I love to meet new people and make new friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this Church and this Gospel brings me hope and happiness. Those in my family are the most important people in my life. Without the knowledge that we can be together forever and that there is much more after this life, I don't know what sort of life that would be. I feel joy in being the gospel as well as a great understanding that there is a place that we came from and a place that we will go, that there is no end after death. I feel, I believe, and I know that the gospel brings me happiness, and with that happiness comes the understanding that we are meant to have joy, joy that will last for the eternities. I feel the love of my Heavenly Father, and I know that I will return with him, hand in hand with those that I have come to love here on this Earth.

How I live my faith

The callings that I have had in my ward have been the best experiences that I have had. I was able to be the ward chorister as well as the ward family history consultant. I have learned more about music as well as indexing through these callings. Part of living my faith is by striving to become closers to other in my ward as well as in my community. Getting to know them makes me be able to love them and connect with them. I love to interact with others and I love to make friends. Understanding the love that Christ has for them allows me to understand my love for them and the will that I have to serve them.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is a commandment to keep our bodies healthy and strong both inside and outside. We keep away from substances that we believe are harmful to our bodies and may be addictive such as Tobacco, Alcohol, Coffee, Tea, and Drugs. By keeping harmful and addictive substances out of our bodies, we believe that we will be blessed to be more physically and spiritually strengthened. Show more Show less
