Hi I'm Anika

I'm a student at Brigham Young University. Called to serve in the Belgium/Netherlands Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am attending BYU, but have decided to take eighteen months off to serve a mission for the church. I play viola, and love to read. Some of my favorite authors are John Steinbeck, CS Lewis, and Willa Cather. I also LOVE Art History. Some of my favorite artists are Gustav Klimt, Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, but I love Henri Matisse, and fauvism most of all.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the gospel, and growing up I really never questioned it. But as I got older, and a lot of my friends decided they no longer believed the church was true, I had to decide for myself. I read the Book of Mormon with an open heart, and when I sincerly asked. I got a confirmation through the spirit that this was true. Through CS Lewis's Mere Christianity I gained a testimony of the atonement and God's grace. Reading that book was the first time I truly understood exactly what the atonement meant for me. That happened about my freshman year of High School, and since I've had a lot of challenges and temptations in living worthily, but through the scriptures and a strong testimony I've been able to strive to live worthily.

How I live my faith

I currently don't have a calling in the church, as I am preparing to serve a mission.
