Hi I'm Steve Burke

I was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa, USA. I became a Mormon when I was 9 years old.

About Me

I am now a retired NVH engineer after working 23 years at General Motors. Before GM, I worked for 16 years at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works. I am married, and my wife and I have raised 3 children, and we now have 5 grandchildren!

Why I am a Mormon

I have known the church is true from the time the missionaries taught my family the gospel when I was just 9 years old. The Spirit manifested the truth to me with a "burning in my bosom." I have had this happen to me over and over again at certain times, which continues to strengthen my testimony of the restoration of the gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

I am currently an early morning seminary teacher at our ward. This consists of teaching "Bible Study" classes to high school students from 6:10-7:00 in the morning before their school starts. They are remarkable young men and women and I love associating with them! I have had many callings through the years and I have learned a little bit more about Gospel living with each one.
