Hi I'm Kristin Arnold

I grew up in Manitoba, Canada and currently live in California. I love movies, writing, reading and baking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom of one boy and 2 girls. Being a mom is the best job I've had! I taught Kindergarten and first grade in Washington DC early in my marriage while my husband attended law school. I have a degree in Health Science and love learning about nutrition and exercise. Some of my favorite hobbies include baking for my friends, going to Disneyland and learning new songs on my ukelele. I love a great story, so many date nights with my husband are spent at the movie theater or watching Netflix and eating take-out. Writing is one of my relatively new hobbies and I'm currently working on a manuscript for a YA novel and dreaming of being a published author one day. I'm a winter sports girl and love to ice skate and ski when I can (which isn't often enough).

Why I am a Mormon

The Mormon faith provides me with everything I need to be happy in both good times and during trials of life. Knowing that God is my Father in Heaven helps me approach Him in prayer, knowing he loves me and wants the best for me and my family. I have a testimony of Jesus Christ and his atonement. Because of this, I know I can repent when I make mistakes and be forgiven. The Book of Mormon has been a blessing in my life, teaching me important truths about how to live. Knowing that a prophet exists today to guide and teach us has been a blessing in my life. His teachings have enriched my life greatly and inspired me to do good things, serve others and try to be the person God wants me to be.

How I live my faith

I currently teach the gospel to 12-13 year old girls on Sundays and help organize monthly events for our ward's women's group. I visit a few ladies regularly in our women's organization to make sure they are well and see if I can help them with any needs they may have. I'm also working on a committee that is putting on a musical to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our congregation's establishment in our community. This summer I'll be attending Girl's Camp with the young women in our congregation.
