Hi I'm Krissy Dayley

I'm a farm girl, a reader, and a runner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a little farm 12 miles outside of my 1 stoplight town in Idaho. I have amazing parents and 5 delightful siblings. Growing up, I enjoyed family activities such as working in the garden, dance parties in the kitchen, and going backpacking in the beautiful Idaho mountain ranges. I just finished my first year at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. My younger brother Spencer who has Down Syndrome and Autism inspired me to pursue Speech Pathology as a field of study. I was recently called to serve in the Little Rock, Arkansas mission and couldn't be more excited for the opportunity I will have to serve my Savior and the people of Arkansas.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon faith, and for a while I took the church as just something that I did because my parents were Mormon. However, I can remember back to experiences from when I was 7 or younger when teachings or principles caught my attention and just felt so right to me; they made sense and made me feel good. Because of this I began searching and thinking about the church on my own more. I studied the scriptures daily and would pray for knowledge to see if what I was reading and being taught in church was true. Little by little my faith increased to where I am at right now. I have gained a sure testimony that this is God's true church. Even though I have gained that faith, I still continue to do those things so I can learn more and come closer to God. The happiness and peace that this knowledge brings to me is what has prompted me to serve a mission; I want to help others come to feel that same happiness and peace that I feel as a result of living the way the Lord wants me to live and understanding the bigger picture. I know what my purpose is and what life holds in store for me and my loved ones after we die. I love this church and my Savior and Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because I know with all of my heart that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church.

How I live my faith

While at college, I had the opportunity to serve as a teacher for our women's meeting. I loved the opportunity to study and then share the knowledge I found with the sisters in my ward. What I loved the most about teaching was the amazing insights and personal experiences given in response to the questions I would ask. I have also had the opportunity to help plan and organize youth activities as well as teach the 4 year old class in church. You can learn so much from others in the ward. We all come to church to try and become closer to God and be better and we also help each other as we do so.
