Hi I'm Troy

I am a musician. I try to bless people through the gifts and abilities God has given to me. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love music. I play the piano, trombone, and tuba, all of which I love and enjoy. I also write and arrange music. I have written pieces for full orchestra and piano (respectively), and I have arranged a few various songs for brass band and hymns for piano, among a few other things. I also enjoy the outdoors, especially Southern Utah. I am a senior about to graduate from high school. Life is coming up fast! In August, I will be serving in the Guatemala Guatemala City Central Mission. I am very much looking forward to serving the people there. After my mission, I am aiming to become a film score writer, which is a mode in which I believe I can bless the largest range of people and which will also be very rewarding for me. I find that music speaks much of what human language cannot define, and as such, it is the way in which I am best able to share my testimony. My life's goal is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music and to help others feel through it the meaning of true joy.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many members, I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Being able to say that is a huge blessing in my life. However, just because I was born into the Church does not mean that I am better than anyone else (that is most certainly not true, nor ever will it be) or that I automatically stay a member. I have chosen to continue to be a member of the Church because I know with all of my heart that it is true. I have had many an opportunity to feel the Holy Ghost and the true joy that comes from really living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I cannot describe in words how much I love the Gospel, how much I need it, how truly happy it makes me. It is definitely not easy, and just like everyone else, I have my fair share of struggles. But I know that the hardships are well worth being a member of this Church. If there is one thing I have learned in life, it is that if you are trying your hardest to be like Christ and follow His precepts, you will be okay, no matter what trials you are going through in your life. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are the Supreme Rulers of the universe. Satan has no power against them at all. So, if you are with Christ, and you are doing your best to stay with Him, it is literally impossible for you to lose to Satan. I am a Mormon because I know that its lifestyle is the best and most fulfilling life I can possibly live.

How I live my faith

My current calling in my ward is primary pianist. I get the amazing opportunity to accompany children ages 3-12 in their singing every other week as well as listen to and learn from the simple Gospel truths they are taught. I am very much enjoying being able to play along with the primary kids. Besides that, I fulfill my duties as a Priest in the Church by blessing and passing the sacrament, collecting fast offerings on Fast Sunday each month, and serving the people in my ward and neighborhood.
