Hi I'm Sherrie

I grew up moving throughout the western United States with my 4 brothers and parents. I love to dance and sing. I am a Mormon.

About Me

After high school I went to the University and graduated in Recreation Education. I was a stay at home mom until my 8 children were raised. I then worked as an assistant director in a pre school. I also sold porcelain dolls in a kiosk in the mall for 3 years. I love the outdoors and have always been very active. I taught an aerobic class for a few years. After our children were raised, my husband and I moved to Germany with his work and lived there for 7.5 years. We were able to travel all over Europe, which we loved. I love learning and planning trips to see new places. My children and husband are my joy and my best friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of this church because I know for myself that it is the church of Jesus Christ restored to the earth. I know that there is a prophet that is here on earth today. I know that as I follow the principles of the church I am happy and feel like I keep progressing forward in good ways to my Heavenly Father. I have read and studied the scriptures and with the help of revelation today understand what I need to do to return to my Heavenly Father. I know that I can be with my family forever. That is my greatest desire.

How I live my faith

I was raised in the Mormon church and whenever we moved I was able to find good friends in my ward. I have held many callings through the years. I have worked with the children, the youth and the adult sisters. It is a wonderful way to learn about others and yourself. One calling I loved was with the girls, ages 12 through 17, at girls camp. We teach the girls how to be self reliant in the outdoors. I was even able to work in this calling while I was in Germany. I was helping the girls learn to cook outdoors and every other day we switched from American cooking to German cooking. It was great! I also was able to work teaching the youth in high school religion class every morning before school. I loved working with these youth, who gave their time every morning to learn and grow closer to their faith. The most important way I try to live my faith is by trying to serve and love those around me and those that I come in contact with.
