Hi I'm Ben

I love science and firearms. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a competitive, yet laid back kind of person. I love physical activity and breaking a sweat, but nothing beats a chocolate donut either. I grew up playing sports and hunting/camping in the High Uintah mountains in Utah. I love firearms. From rifles and shotguns to handguns and novelties, the art and beauty of the firearm fascinates me. A goal in my life to save enough money to go on a safari hunt in South Africa with a big bore rifle.

Why I am a Mormon

I looked at the world and thought there was too much cruelty and unfairness to face this life as nothing more than an ape on a rock. There is likewise too much beauty that cannot be captured or saved without having been illustrated by a Master. I am a Mormon because I felt that there must be a God. And if there is a God, He must love us. And if He loves us, there must be more to our story on earth than what we can see or hear. The Gospel of Jesus Christ answers all of these questions. It reveals to us that we are His children, that He does love us, and that we are involved in just one part of His plan for eternal happiness. I believe in God, and I believe in His plan to help us all in our different paths of sorrow and joy, pain and comfort, failure and success. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Faith has to be exercised. I feel best about myself and the world around me when I am involved. There are so many discouraging situations, troubling circumstances and even down-right unfair challenges in this world that navigating life alone can become overwhelming. I believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and His gospel gives me hope and reason to move forward and face whatever challenges that will come my way. It is taking that step forward, not knowing what will happen, but believing that God will not forsake you, that defines exercising faith for me.
