Hi I'm Lisa

I play the saxophone and am a music education student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I started playing the saxophone when I was 11 years old. Due to an anxiety disorder, I struggled playing solos both in my concert band and jazz band. Through music, I slowly began to overcome my anxiety. In high school, I pioneered saxophone in the symphonic orchestra in my school district. I also played a concerto with my youth symphony. During the summers I ran preschool camps. In my spare time I enjoy arranging instrumental music for a variety of instrumentations.

Why I am a Mormon

There are a lot of reasons I'm a Mormon. One of them is the hope and comfort the Spirit brings. I have found that the comfort of the Spirit can help me in almost every situation I find myself in. When I was 17, I was in a church youth council. I had to speak in front of hundreds of people each weekend. With my anxiety this was very hard. Because of the spirit of comfort I felt, I was able to speak freely in every meeting I was assigned to speak in. I love being Mormon and all the wonderful things it brings.

How I live my faith

I started a Facebook page called LDSsaxophone to share the religious arrangements I have created. I am majoring in music education because I want to share the beautiful feelings music can create. Teaching and playing music is my favorite way to honor the Lord.
