Hi I'm Ryland Barron

I was born in Vietnam. I have a family of 13. I love basketball. I love serving the Lord. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing basketball. I like playing any sport really. I like being active, so playing sports helps me get all that energy out. My brothers and I love playing any sports any moment we get. I also like to sing. I sing for my wards choir and like to sing at home as well. I love the outdoors and being in nature. After I serve my mission I plan to go to college and get my Ph.D in physical therapy. I come a from a large family of 13. We are all adopted from all over the world. I love all of my siblings and my parents. We are a great big family.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is everything to me. I have found out for myself that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and that he brought forth the fullness of the gospel. I have grown up in the church so it would be easy for me to say that I know it because I grew up with it. I have actually asked my Father in Heaven in prayer and He has answered my prayer. He has manifested to me through the spirit that these things are true. It is because of that belief that I obey my parents and try my best everyday. I also love the members of the church. They have always shown love towards me and continue to boost me up whenever I feel down. I know that the commandments of the Lord keep me safe and that is why I stay away from alcohol and drugs and from other harmful substances. I know that if I stick to my standards I will be safe and remain clean and healthy.

How I live my faith

I attend my Sunday meetings every week. I love attending church. I also attend Wednesday night activities for youth in my church. It is a lot of fun. I have been in a lot of leadership roles, but have also had the opportunity to learn from other leaders and my peers. During the summer I attend camps for youth my age and do lots of service projects. I enjoy singing in my wards choir. I am a home teacher and my dad is my companion. I love visiting the families I home teach. I try to attend all of the firesides that my ward and stake have. It is a really great time to learn.
