Hi I'm Elizabeth

As a child, I grew up in the Mormon church in Colorado. As an adult, I enjoy being a mom and wife. I am still a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my family (husband and 5 children). We love to play board games, hike, play sports, watch movies and just have fun together doing various activities. Our family loves to travel. I love dating my husband still. My husband and I met when we were very young (14 and 15), online. We had a long distance relationship/friendship for almost 4 years before we met in person. Soon after meeting in person and dating, we were engaged and married, and a month after marriage my husband became Mormon too. I am a stay at home mom and I homeschool my younger children and my special needs child. My husband and I have been foster parents and hope to do that again someday. I love children! I also love to exercise- zumba, running, yoga and kickboxing are my favorites. When I have time I love to learn, read, write, scrapbook and do crazy things out of the blue like sky diving or parasailing. I love to have fun!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the Mormon church, so I grew up being Mormon. However, I didn't personally be fully converted until I was in my late 20's as an adult. I was baptized at age 8, and had gone through some years of being and inactive Mormon, but my heart changed forever at age 29 and from then onto this day I plan on being a very active Mormon as I have a very strong testimony of the gospel I have grown up in. Not too long ago I miscarried a child at 17 weeks. It broke my heart. I was so devastated that I didn't know how I would pull through. I turned to what I had originally grown up with... I turned to the gospel and everything that came with it. I read The Book of Mormon and prayed. I received not only peace and comfort and love but I also received revelation that the Mormon church was indeed true and I needed to be active again. I am a Mormon because I love my family. I know that I can be with my family for eternity. I want to be with my son who I had lost. I want to hold him in my arms. I want to meet Jesus and fall at His feet in worship and give Him a big hug of love and thank Him for everything He has done for me. I know that He has felt all of my pains and sorrows, and because of that, I didn't feel alone and devastated. I turned my pain and sorrow to Him. I know that He loves me. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I know it with my whole being. I felt it as I read The Book of Mormon. As I live this faith, I am showing my love to my Savior and this is the least I can do, for everything He has done for me. I love being Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love living my faith, because it is a way to show my love towards my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I go to church every Sunday so I can partake of the sacrament- to remember my Savior. Our family has Family Home Evening once a week (most of the time on Mondays), where we talk about our faith and learn more about Christ together. We also have family scripture study and family prayer almost every night. We pay our tithing (10% of what we earn) to the church to show our faith and commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ. We go to the temple as much as we can so we can do work (like baptisms) for our ancestors. It is a 3 hour drive, but we make it work. We love the temple! Every time we go there we feel renewed and true peace. I listen to the living prophet of today and prophets from the past and try my hardest to obey their counsels. I try my best to keep the commandments. I do make mistakes, and as I do, I repent. I am so thankful for repentance so I can be clean again. I try my hardest to have personal scripture study and prayer every day. As I take the time to draw closer to the Lord, I feel like my day is brighter and better. I live my faith by following God's will for me. I listen to Him in prayer and do as He asks me to do... whether it is being a friend, having children, teaching my children a certain way or any way He directs me, I will follow. I live my faith by following, remembering, loving and being committed to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
