Hi I'm Conner Rawson

I like to eat rice. I enjoy sports and snacks, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, I was a college student, but took a two year break to serve a full time mission in the Philippines, Quezon City Mission. In college, I started studying mechanical engineering, but I've decided to make some career changes (I'm just not sure what yet). I like to do things involving teaching and serving others. I'd love to be a teacher, but we'll see what the future has in store. As a missionary, I've enjoyed the various aspects of service. I've learned to love the food, language and culture of the Philippines. I've also learned to love the people here. I've always enjoyed sports. I wouldn't say I'm especially good at any of them, but I really enjoy playing different sports with my friends. I also enjoy reading. When I find books that I like, I can often disappear for hours at a time just to read and relax.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member for a lot of reasons. It starts with how good I feel when I participate in what we call "the Gospel of Jesus Christ". As I exercise my faith in Jesus Christ, I feel good. As I follow His example to do good and help others, I feel even better. The feelings I get as I do this have never been rivaled by anything else I've ever done. I think the only other important reason is because I've learned who I am. More than just my name, or what people see me as, I've learned who I was before this life, and I know who I can be after this life. I don't know everything yet, but this is the Church that has the information that I need to help me get there.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a lot of ways. I think the easiest way for any of us to live our faith is to serve other people. I really enjoy finding ways to solve problems that people deal with. I enjoy being a full time missionary, since I get to do this all day, every day. There's no better way to help others than to invite them to follow the Savior, Jesus Christ. My favorite way to live my faith is to be happy! I get the opportunity to talk to dozens of people every day about the Gospel. Not everybody takes time to listen, but they always see me smiling and waving. It's a small thing I do to help others. Being a missionary is how I am following the Savior. He's asked us to share the joy of His Gospel. I'm happy to be a part of His work.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Conner Rawson
There are a few things that have helped me to know there is a God. First and foremost in my life has always been prayer. It's a huge act of faith to get down on your knees and start talking out loud to somebody that you cannot see. But somehow, every time I pray, believing that there is a God, I get a response. It's something that I hear more than I feel. A song that is sung by children in the church starts off "Heavenly Father, are you really there, and do you hear and answer every child's prayer?". Praying to my Heavenly Father has helped me more than anything to know that He is there, and He loves me. Show more Show less
