Hi I'm Christopher Gorham

I'm a Mormon, grew up in Las Vegas, a member for my whole life, and about to serve a mission for the church in Texas, Lubbock.

About Me

My name's Christopher, Im 18 years old and graduated school early. I love working out, being outdoors, staying healthy, and doing service for others. I have 4 brothers and 1 sister, I am the youngest of all of them. My oldest brother is autistic and it's a struggle with our family but we don't give up on him. My mother has been in the church her whole life and my dad is a convert, my brother's and sister and I was raised in the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon cause I have an undying faith and knowledge that this is a true Church of Jesus Christ, He is our Savior and died for everyone so that we all may one day return heaven with God. I also believe that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God He transcribed the book of Mormon which is another testament of Jesus Christ as of the Bible. I have been helped through many difficulties in my life because of this church, I continue to follow it cause I have a testimony of its truth and I have had that testified to me through the Holy Spirit over and over again!

How I live my faith

I have tremendous faith and knowledge that the church is true, The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints (mormons) and I show it by going to church every Sunday, doing my duties of a preistood holder, to serve a mission for two years in Texas Lubbock for this church!

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Christopher Gorham
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the most important thing for our salvation with out it we would never be able to return back to heaven with our Heavenly Father and the rest of our brothers and sisters. Elder Holland explains the atonement beautifully and he says: "If He could come forward in the night, kneel down, fall on His face, bleed from every pore, and cry, “Abba, Father (Papa), if this cup can pass, let it pass,” then little wonder that salvation is not an easy thing for us. If you wonder if there isn’t an easier way, you should remember you are not the first one to ask that. Someone a lot greater and a lot grander asked a long time ago if there wasn’t an easier way. When you struggle, when you are rejected, when you are spit upon and cast out, you are standing with the best life this world has ever known, the only pure and perfect life ever lived. You have reason to stand tall and be grateful that the Living Son of the Living God knows all about your sorrows and afflictions. The only way to salvation is through Gethsemane and on to Calvary. The only way to eternity is through Him—the Way, the Truth, and the Life." (missionary work and the atonement) Its not only important that we have the atonement it was necessary so that are bodies may be resurrected and we can return to heaven, the reason we have the atonement is because our Heavenly Father loves us and sent his only Begotten son to atone for our sins and suffer that excruciating pain.
