Hi I'm Bryce

I'm a mormon. I love to play football and will play at USU upon my return from my mission. I grew up in Cache Valley, Utah.

About Me

I am currently a senior in high school preparing to serve a mission in Lima Perú. I love to compete and play sports such as basketball, track, and my favorite, football. In my spare time I enjoy playing the piano, reading, and hanging out my friends. Some of our favorite things to do are go boating/wakeboarding, hammocking/camping, skiing, motorcycling, long boarding, or watching superhero movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in The Chuch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It wasn't until a couple of years ago when I realized why I continued to be a part of it. They are hard to describe to someone that has never actually felt them, but I love the feelings that I get from this church. The Holy Ghost testifies to me when I do something good like service, or when someone says something about our gospel that is true and it brings a warm peace over my whole body that I have found no where else. Because of these feelings I have chosen to give up two years of my life and will be in the service of the Peruvian people. I have a full scholarship available to me to play Division 1 football and get a start on my adult life but I have decided to postpone it. I know that it was the right thing to do because of the feeling I got about it. I absolutely love this church and the awesome morals and standards that it teaches. It has helped me become a better person which benefits all of those I come in contact with. The church is full of great and interesting people who support each other and lift each other up. I love being a part of something bigger than myself and that encourages us to live Christlike lives.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite ways to live my faith is through service. I am an Eagle Scout and have participated in, as well as created, service projects around our community. For example, we painted over 150 fire hydrants, planted plenty of trees in a upcoming park nearby, and have built and aided in many other things around the city. In addition, a great way for me to serve is by home teaching. My companion and I visit two families every month and help them in all of their endeavors. I have also served on the Stake Youth Committee where we met and planned many activities for all of the youth in our area. Some of these activities included a fireside, a three day trip where we reinacted being pioneers, a learning to cook activity, and an activity that involved the younger youth and we set up games for them to play.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is very sacred. It is the authority to act in God's name or use his power through priesthood keys here on earth. Only men can hold the priesthood. I hold the priesthood and it helps me to live a higher standard in my life because of different oaths and covenants attached it. I have seen amazing things brought about through the power of the priesthood that are explained no other way. I have seen the sick healed and I have felt the peace that comes about during trials in my life through blessings given by priesthood bearers. Show more Show less
