Hi I'm Anne

I live in Alabama, USA. I am retired educator. My passion is working with students who have special needs. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. My family is very important to me. Now that I am retired, I spend most of my time enjoying my grandchildren. I love to attend their concerts, dance recitals, ball games, and birthday parties. Sometimes, I visit the elementary school and read to the class. I enjoy traveling with my husband and meeting new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in a loving family with good parents who taught me that Jesus Christ was the Son of God. My parents attended a protestant church and lived a good Christian life. Although no one ever told me this, I thought I had to do everything right or God would not love me. I was a perfectionist, but no one is perfect. I didn't understand the principle of repentance. After my first child was born, I had a severe post-partum depression. I was in a dark hole and couldn't enjoy my baby. I thought she would be better off being raised by someone else. I tried to pray, but felt nothing. My family tried to help me. I was in complete despair. Through some friends, I learned about the Mormon church and began to listen to the missionaries. I felt the light begin to come back and started feeling like myself again. I started reading the Book of Mormon and learning about the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I read my Bible along with the Book of Mormon. I finally understood that my Savior, Jesus Christ, died for me, as an individual, as well as for the sins of the world. I was baptized and have been a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 40 years. I know that God lives, that Jesus is His Son and that we have a living prophet on the Earth today. I am thankful that God still sends His prophets to lead and guide His children in the paths of righteousness.

How I live my faith

My husband and I will be leaving soon to serve a full-time mission together for 18 months. We are very excited to have this opportunity to work with younger missionaries and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Although it will be difficult to be away from my family, I know that the Lord will bless all of us as we serve Him. Recently, I had the opportunity to be the president of my local church's women's organization. During my tenure as president, I was able to help many families as they struggled with the loss of a loved one.
