Hi I'm Michael J

I was born and raised in Utah. I love to have fun laughing with family and friends, and I know God loves me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 17 year old high school Senior, with a mission call to Colombia. I enjoy sports such as football, rugby, basketball, and golf. I love to laugh, and make other people laugh. I enjoy being with my amazing friends and family, and I love to find opportunities to serve. Nothing makes me happier than friends, family, and service. I also enjoy having spontaneous dance parties with my older brothers and little sister, watching movies, and going on dates. I am going to attend BYU after serving my mission. I am a son, a brother, a priesthood holder, a self proclaimed ping-pong world champion, and a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (or a Mormon) by my own choice. Despite my parents being teachers and leaders our church, I come because of my own choices. I am a Mormon because it gives me joy to be a Mormon. I am a Mormon because the Savior Jesus Christ redeemed me, (which means to literally save from sin). There is no greater joy than having your sins taken away through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and feeling clean again. Like Alma, (my personal favorite character in the Book of Mormon), "I have been supported under trials and troubles of every kind, yea, and in all manner of afflictions; yea, God has delivered me from prison, and from bonds, and from death; yea, and I do put my trust in him, and he will still deliver me. And I know that he will raise me up at the last day, to dwell with him in glory; yea, and I will praise him forever" (Alma 36:27-28). Our Heavenly Father lifts me through every day, every trial, every loss, and every disappointment. He provides answers to my questions. He fills every gap in my soul in his own perfect, loving way. Because of that, I know he lives. I know my Savior Jesus Christ suffered, bled, and died to save me and you from sin. I know that the Lord restored his church through the prophet Joseph Smith. God lives.

How I live my faith

I serve as leader in my youth group, and I consider myself to be a brother to those I serve. As I learn to love them, I feel God's love for me, and for them. I teach lessons on some Sundays, and plan fun activities for our youth group. I live my faith by doing my best to love and serve as Jesus Christ did while he was on the earth. The Savior Jesus Christ did not exclude, judge, or hold prejudice towards anyone. He served, loved, saved, and redeemed his faithful followers. I know through experience that if we serve and love as he did, we will not only feel our Heavenly Father's love for those we serve, we will feel His perfect love for us.
