Hi I'm Ashton Jensen

I grew up skiing, biking, hiking, camping, and running in Utah, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I always love to be doing something. My main hobbies revolve around being in the outdoors, doing things like skiing, camping, running, biking, or playing other sports. I love living in Utah as there are so many things to do so close in the mountains. I ran cross country in high school and played tennis. I just finished my first year of school at Brigham Young University and am currently serving a mission in Queretaro, Mexico. I love school and learning. Seeking learning "by study and also by faith" is what I try to live by.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an active family in the church so of course I was raised to be a Mormon. I continue being faithful in the church by choice though. I do believe that this is the true church with the fulness of the gospel. Through Joseph Smith, the priesthood was restored to the Earth and we are led today by real prophets and apostles who are called of God. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us how to lead fulfilling and happy lives, and promises us many great blessings. I know this is true and wish that everybody could taste of the joy the gospel brings. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I grew up with a large group of young men in my ward. We had a blast together in scouting and young men's activities. I served in leadership positions with my young men's group. Since I turned 14, I have tried to be a faithful home teacher, to visit and look out for the families I am assigned to. I also willingly serve all the elderly people in our ward and help make sure their needs are taken care of. I love how the gospel encourages positive action and service, and it is really meaningful to actually live the gospel, and not just learn about it Right now, I am just beginning to serve a full time mission, which means I will be spending two years of my life teaching the gospel to anyone who is interested.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Ashton Jensen
Alma 30:44 is one of my favorite scriptures because it says, "All things denote there is a God." I believe so. Just look at the world around you! It is so beautiful. Every sunrise and sunset, every tree blooming in the spring, every thunderstorm, they all witness to me that there is a "Supreme Creator." Many of my favorite hobbies include getting out into nature, and it is because I can feel close to God there and receive a witness that He lives. His creations are so amazing. Some people also don't think that science and religion can coexist. This world still works according to natural laws though and we can discover and learn so much about it. It is another testament to me that God lives because he created an organized world. Show more Show less
