Hi I'm Katelyn

I grew up in a small town. There I fell in love with sports, music, fishing, and writing songs on the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of five children. I tried to be involved with as much as possible in high school. With activities ranging from basketball to school plays, orchestra to cheerleading, my time was always in need in one form or another. I love to be busy and find joy in everyday. I just completed my first year of college at Dixie State University. It was a year of growth, learning, and fun. I have received a mission call, and have been assigned to labor in the Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh mission. Upon my return I hope to pursue my degree as a Dental Hygienist. Once I have received my degree, I would like to marry in the temple and have an eternal family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon. I was baptized at eight years old. My own testimony of Gods love for each of his children began when I was in the 5th grade. In church we had a lesson where our teacher promised us that if we prayed to know if God loved us, we would receive an answer. That night I was saying my prayers, I decided to test my teachers promise. As I asked God if He love me, not knowing what to expect, I had an indescribable feeling of love. I knew Heavenly Father was real. I knew that He loved me. I knew that He cared about me. I knew that I was important to Him. That was where my testimony began. Now, many years later, my testimony has grown. I know that Heavenly Father loves ALL of his children. I know that Christ lives. I know that He suffered for each of us individually. He knows exactly how we feel. If you ever wonder why The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints tries to share the knowledge of the restored gospel. It is because it is a message of hope and gladness. Think of your most favorite food. It tastes so good, even thinking about it makes your mouth water. You love this food so much that you try to have your family and friends taste it so they can experience the ambrosial flavor. This is the same as the gospel. It brings eternal joy and knowledge, how could we keep this to ourselves?

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be more Christlike every day. Though I fall short, and am imperfect in every way, I can give a perfect effort at striving to be my best self. As I try to fully live the gospel, I have lasting joy and happiness. I am not saying hard times don't come because they do, but my attitude is changed when those difficulties arrive.
