Hi I'm Connor

I grew up in Utah and Arizona. I love music. I am the drum major of Arizona's third place marching band. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music. I play saxophone, bassoon, piano, didgeridoo, and some guitar. I sing baritone/bass in my schools barbershop/choral men's choir. My quartet "Tag! You're It" placed 4th in our age group at a barbershop competition. I am also in marching band. I marched saxophone for 2 years and directed the band as junior and then senior drum major for the next two years. After high school I plan to serve a two year mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and then go on to college to become an Aeronautical Engineer. I excel in anything math related. I am currently taking my second year of calculus and college level physics as a high school senior. I lost my father in June, 2016. I am the oldest of three.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, and have been attending my whole life. I recently have found my testimony though, and it has become very strong. It has been a very slow, continuous process over the past few years, but it is worth it. I went on a retreat with my youth group, after we had all read the Book of Mormon in 90 days. We did service for the people of Virden, NM and had lots of fun, and felt the spirit very much. To end, just before we went home we stopped near a dried up river bed. we had a short discussion about the trip, and the amazing spirit we felt. After that we all went into a small grove of trees to personally pray if the Book of Mormon was true. That's when I first found my testimony. I know that its true. I recently went through a terrible trial when I lost my father. Losing him was awful, but through it I prayed for strength. I realized a little while later that, with God's help, and my testimony of His plan, I was able to make it through. I now have a very strong testimony of God's plan for us, and i know that through the atonement of Jesus Chris I will be able to see my dad again, and live with my family forever in happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by leading my youth group. At age 12 I was over the 12-13 year old boys, at 15 I was over the 14-15 year old boys, at 17 I was put in charge of the 16-18 year old boys, along with helping out with all the other age groups. I help to plan outings and events for the youth. I attend seminary at my school, and share my faith whenever possible. Currently I am preparing to serve a 2 year mission and preach to the people of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

What is faith?

Connor
Faith is believing and hoping for something. But it is not something you just say, if you want to believe or know something through faith you must act. For example: if I have an apple seed, I can have faith that it will grow, but unless I plant it in the ground and nurture it, it will never grow. Show more Show less
