Hi I'm Winter

I am an artist, a musician, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am guilty of reading books.... okay, a LOT of books. I prefer books with magical creatures; dragons, griffins, fairies, etc. Some of my favorite books include: The Griffin Mage, Cry of the Icemark, The Enchanted Forest Chronicles, and the Riyria Chronicles and Revelations. I LOVE art. I do watercolor, acrylic, digital, pencil, pen, brush pens, and dabbed in oil. I also really like to color with crayons. I play the Harp and Piano. I'm self taught, so I make up a lot of what I play. I'm learning to sew with a sewing machine so I can participate in Cosplay (creating costumes of characters from books, movies, tv shows, video games, anime, etc.) I've done hand sewing for several years now, ever since I accidentally broke my mom's sewing machine. I learned how to do basic embroidery and the basic stitch to do repairs. I like playing video games. I go through phases of which game I binge play, currently it's Minecraft. I also really like watching other people play video games, and doing commentary. I am a Marvel fan. My favorite super heroes are: Captain America, Black Panther, Ant Man, Wolverine, and Gambit. I am interested in learning Psychology, and Engineering. I like learning how and why things work and do the things they do. I was doing commission work as a commission artist before going on a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born into a Mormon family, I've decided for myself to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I believe that God loves ALL his children, not just those from long ago in Jerusalem. I believe that he guided those of his children who were in the Americas the same as he did those who were in Jerusalem. I believe that God loves us, and continues to guide us as he did those long before. I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the Living God, and that he atoned for all of us. I believe that he suffered so that we can repent of our sins and live with God again. I know that Christ loves me SO much, that if necessary, he would do it all, just for me. I know that God, our Heavenly Father, not only hears our prayers, but that he answers them. I believe that through the power of the Holy Ghost, his messenger, we can know the truth of all things. I know that the Holy Ghost comforts me, guides me, warns me, and testifies to me. I know that we have a Prophet today, just like the times of old. I know that God loves me; and has been there for me, through thick and thin. I believe that the Bible is the Word of God, and a testament about Jesus Christ. I believe that the Book of Mormon is also the Word of God, and is another testament about Jesus Christ. I believe that one does not replace the other, and that both testify about the truth of the other. I think they go hand-in-hand.

How I live my faith

I am now serving an 18 month mission in Budapest, Hungary; where I will be proselyting, teaching, preaching about the Book of Mormon; and serving those around me. In the past, I've been a Laurel (the older group of girls, aged 16, 17, and occasionally 18) Young Women's president. I helped to plan the activities that would happen once a week. I've been a Youth Camp Leader (YCL) level 1, and level 2. I helped plan Girls Camp (for girls 12-17). This would include activities, meals, nightly scripture study, location ideas, crafts, hikes, theme; and separation of girls into groups for staying in tents, or cabins, as the location directed. I love to talk to anyone and everyone about what I believe and will answer any questions to the best of my ability.
