Hi I'm MaryElena Melendez

I grew up in Southern California, love my family more than anything. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a sister and an aunt. I love my family and love spending time with them whenever I can. I have enjoyed being a swimmer and being active everyday. I am currently preparing to serve a mission and can't wait that journey of my life. I am excited to share this wonderful gospel. I work full time at a non profit and absolutely love it. I love to cook and spend time with my wonderful friends. Animals are amazing and i love the outdoors. I could spend all my time outside and be perfectly happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that this Gospel is the word of God. I know that we are not alone, that Heavenly Father is always there for all of us. I am so lucky to know this gospel so fully and love it so deeply. I know that Joseph Smith was Prophet and that we have Prophets on this earth. I know that prayer is our connection to our Lord and that he always hears our pleas. If we ask with a sincere heart, he will answer our prayers in the exact way we need them fulfilled. We are all children of God and he is aware of each and everyone of our circumstances. We are here on this earth to teach, grow , and learn. I know that families are forever and that we will see our loved one's who have passed again one day. I follow this gospel because I know it is right. I know that I wouldn't be who I am or where I am without it. The Lord never said it would be easy, he said it would be worth it. It definitely is and will continue to be difficult but all we are blessed with and learn will be worth it.

How I live my faith

I am a service co chair and love my calling. Serving others has been so rewarding for myself and amazing to help others. I participate heavily in my Ward and love all of the people in my Ward. I have been so blessed with a wonderful place to learn and grow in this gospel. The Ward I participate in is amazing and has allowed me to grow in ways I never thought possible. I am excited to help serve in my ward however I can. I am also a visiting teacher, I have loved and appreciated the women I have been blessed to teach and learn from as a visiting teacher. Visiting these women once a month is not nearly enough, but I have developed friendships and the ability to serve has been amazing.
