Hi I'm Dean Moody

I was raised on a farm in Delta, Utah, one of 10 children. I'm now retired with a wonderful family--I am grateful to be a Mormon!

About Me

I am a Mormon! -I was born in Delta, Utah, USA to a family of 10 children. -I was raised on a farm where I worked in the fields, fed cattle, and milked a cow. -I love sports, music, to read, and travel. -I served a mission to Norway--and loved the people and my experience. -I graduated from Brigham Young University. -I married my high school sweetheart and we have 7 sons and 1 daughter. -All of our children are married and we have 33-soon to be 34 grandchildren. -I loved teaching history and coaching in High School for 6 years. -I owned a business for 25 years until I retired at 55. -We love being with grand kids and family--always a riot! -We will soon be serving another mission together--the first in Baltimore, Maryland--the next in New Orleans, Louisiana as of July 2016. -We love serving our Savior and seeing where we can serve others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have had an abiding testimony and belief in our Savior as the Son of God, who is our Father in Heaven. From my earliest years I remember my mother reading to me from the Bible and the Book of Mormon and telling me stories of faith from our ancestry. I grew up knowing the Gospel is true and through personal prayer and asking in faith, I have received a personal witness from the Holy Ghost that this Church has been restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. This abiding faith has given me succoring strength through all my years of growing up and becoming a husband, father, and grandfather.

How I live my faith

Over the last couple of years I have enjoyed being asked to help others with employment. It is such a good feeling when I can help an individual find a job, or be able to help with a good recommendation. I also have made some lifetime friends as a home teacher where 2 of us visit 3 other families and support them and assist in needs they may have. One of our members in his late 70's just lost his wife in death and it is great to support and help him. She was a wonderful member of the Catholic faith and I appreciated all they do in their congregations to assist at times like this. I love people of other faiths who love our Savior and live accordingly. The last two years I was able to work on a committee for a large Young Men (12-18 years old) Boy Scout week long encampment. We had almost 2000 young men and 800 adults come to spend the week together. It was a most inspirational time to see how strong the feelings of togetherness in our faith and the good works, scout advancement, service projects, leadership training, and just good wholesome fun we all had together. I love to pray to my Father in Heaven and seek his counsel and feel his love.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Dean Moody
When missionaries come to your home there will always be two of them in what they call a companionship. They are assigned to always be in this arrangement for safety and to be able to work together in their mission calling. Missionaries will share a message regarding Jesus Christ, that he is the Son of God and our Savior who took upon him the sins, evils, and hardships of the world for each of us personally. They will teach of his life and the perfect example he gave. Our Heavenly Father sent his son to this earth so that we may experience life and live according to his commandments. Through our faith in Jesus Christ each one of us can repent of our sins and ask for his forgiveness. The missionaries will describe the great plan of salvation which is available to everyone of God's children who has come--or will come to this earth. They will describe through the Bible, the Church and Gospel that Jesus organized while on earth and how his Church was lost over time through apostasy of it's members and death of the Apostles and other priesthood leaders. They will also describe the great news that Jesus Christ's original Church has again been restored the the earth with the same organization that he organized with a Prophet and 12 Apostles as the foundation of that organization. You will find the missionaries to be very polite and faith promoting as they share their own personal testimonies. They love giving service as you may have needs they can help with.
