Hi I'm Preston

I grew up in Utah, I love the Lord Jesus Christ, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have lived in Utah all my life. I have always enjoyed reading, particularly the Harry Potter series. I love sports, especially watching college football. When I was 15 I was diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD, which is basically depression that comes in the wintertime. It is so far the hardest thing in my life that I have had to go through. But with the help of the Atonement of Jesus Christ I know that I can get through anything that life throws at me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, so from a very young age I was taught the Gospel by my parents. While it is always great to grow up with the gospel all around you, there comes a time when you have to gain your own testimony. Through lots of prayer and scripture study I have come to have my own testimony. When I was struggling with my depression, I had to rely on the Atonement of the Savior Jesus Christ in order to be able to make it through that challenge. I can now say that I know of the power of the Atonement and that I have experienced the healing and enabling that comes from it. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and that we have Prophets and revelation continuing today. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the mouthpiece of God on the Earth. I know that we are all children of God and that he loves us. I know that after this life, we can continue to be with our families for eternity.

How I live my faith

I strive to magnify my calling by helping my bishop address the needs of the sixteen and seventeen year old boys in my ward. I am a home teacher, which I go monthly to two families in my ward. I sometimes teach in Sunday School and Priesthood meetings. I always strive to keep the commandments. The biggest thing coming up in my life at the moment is that I'm preparing to leave to serve a full-time mission in Scottsdale, Arizona in September.
