Hi I'm Lee

I'm a Utah native, an engineering student, and a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying mechanical engineering and I love to get outside. I generally spend my free time backpacking, fishing, hunting, swimming, and playing soccer. I am currently preparing to be a service volunteer.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have gained no greater joy than by living the teachings of this church and building my relationship with God and my Savior. I grew up in an area that is dominated by the Mormon faith and I have always been an active member. However, I had many questions and concerns as I was actively serving and participating in the church. When I was a senior in high school, we were learning about Joseph Smith and discussed how the church was restored to the Earth. Although this curriculum helped build the faith of many of my fellow classmates, I found myself wrestling with questions and doubts. I still believed in the church and believed my life was blessed by it, but I wasn't sure if it was true. I questioned if Joseph Smith really was a prophet of God, or was a fraud that misled millions. I searched everywhere for answers but eventually came to the conclusion that the answer to my questions lay in the Book of Mormon. If the Book of Mormon was true, I knew that I would get an answer, and I had an intense and sincere desire to know if this church was true. Because of this desire, and through reading the Book of Mormon and praying to my Heavenly Father, I came to know that this church was true, and that Joseph Smith was, in fact, a prophet of God. I changed the way I lived my life and started to grow closer to my God as well as my family. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon, I have become a person that I did not believe I was capable of becoming. I have developed a love for my family and friends that has been unprecedented and I know these things to be true. If you have a true and sincere desire to know if the Book of Mormon is true, I know that you can obtain a witness of its truthfulness. This gospel has changed and blessed me. It gives me light and joy in a dimming world.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing small and simple things to brighten my day. Praying and reading from the scriptures daily has blessed my life as I have been able to self reflect and adjust how I live my life. I strive to follow Christ's teachings and to stand as his disciple as I navigate the world around me. He is the good shepherd, and my life has been blessed immensely by serving others and by following his example.
