Hi I'm Tyson

I was born in Sandy, Utah. I love listening to and making music. I enjoy auto mechanics. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music. I play a few different instruments, but clarinet is my favorite. I was in my high school choir and am currently in my church's ward choir. Music is a very important part of my life. I love to do anything outdoors. I have had several amazing adventures as I have been camping and exploring the great outdoors. I also love cars. Auto mechanics is something that I learned in my high school auto shop class and I have stuck with it ever since. My older brother and I have a project car we've been working on for a couple years now. It's a 1985 Nissan 300zx. I am unsure what I want to do as a profession, but college is definitely in my future plans.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by parents who taught me to go to church and to believe in God. I usually went to church just to obey my parents. I never had a problem doing that, but as I got into my teenage years, I wanted to learn for myself if the gospel of the church was true. Over time, as I participated in callings assigned to me and as I studied the Bible and Book of Mormon and went to church, I started to learn for myself that the things my parents taught me as I was growing up are true. Today, I live the gospel of Jesus Christ because I know its truthfulness and because I know that it will support me when life gets hard. I know that when I live the standards of the gospel, I am doing what is pleasing to God. His opinion of me is the opinion that matters most because he knows me more than anyone else including myself. I put my trust in God's wisdom and commandments before I rely on anything else including my own logical thinking. I will never deny the existence of God or the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ found in revealed scripture (Bible, Book of Mormon).

How I live my faith

I have served in my church quite a bit. I have been able to plan activities for me and my fellow teenage friends. I also have been a leader of a group of young men about my age. In this position I watched over this group and assured that they were all doing okay. I would invite those who didn't attend this group as often to join us so that they would be able to learn the gospel of Jesus Christ as well as have a support group to help out when life gets hard.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is our father who lives in heaven. We are his children. Everyone on earth has an earthly father and mother who they were raised by and born to. Most little kids look up to their father on earth and want to become like him. Ideally, a father loves his children no matter what they do and wants them to grow up to be the best that they can be. Similarly to a father on earth, our Heavenly Father loves us no matter what we do or how bad we may feel. He sees the potential in us to become like Him. We become more like Him as we repent of mistakes in our lives and overcome trials that fall in our way. God allows hard times in our lives in order to make us stronger and to become more like Him. He is always aware of our thoughts, feelings, and actions and He will never allow us to face a trial that he knows we can't handle. If we live a repentant life, acknowledging God in all that we do, we will be able to live with God again after this life. God loves us so much that he will do all that he can to help up back to Him.
