Hi I'm Curtis

I love boxing, I love my country, I love Johnny Cash, I love western movies, and I love being a Mormon.

About Me

Im a johnny cash fan and love westerns. I'm a student at BYU-I and I love to study anything in the realm of social sciences. Trades like history, economics, and politics. I especially enjoy Latin American studies and learning about the anthropology of ancient and modern Latin America. A lot has benefitted from historical texts such as the emancipation proclamation and religious texts like the Bible and the Book of Mormon, we learn what has been done to shape humanity today. That's why I love this subject. Everything has a reaction and can change the future. The beauty of it all, is that it's in the hands of an all-loving father who stands at the front of our lives. I've learned a lot of lessons in my life but the one that's the greatest learned is "life is like the boxing ring; once you stop moving, you're done". I've had a lot of ups and downs in my life, constantly battling severe depression and anxiety. But from this I've learned that through it all it doesn't matter what happens, all that matters is what you do about it. I'm a very patriotic person. I love my country and would do anything and everything I could to protect it. The Lord has blessed my with the ability to become friends with anybody and everyone. But in general, I'm just a guy who likes to have fun and laugh. I believe this is the cure to any heartache. These qualities and a few others have helped me deal with life's problems. The same can happen to you if you ask the Lord to magnify your divine qualities.

Why I am a Mormon

It's makes sense temporally and spiritually. Why? Because it's true. Christ has saved me from my sins and afflictions, so why not be an active member of his true church holding the proper priesthood authority. The Atonement and Priesthood authority are the biggest points in the gospel, constantly pointing us in the correct way. How did I know this is true? I'm a firm believer that spiritual truths can only come through God through the spirit. I went to him. He told me that all of what I have spoken about is the truth. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by putting aside two years of my life and devoting it to God. I'm going to the Fort Worth, Texas and surrounding area to preach the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I will set aside everything including work, school, and my current social circle to preach and baptize full time.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Curtis
We don't pay our leaders because it takes away from the glory of God. In 1 Corinthians chapter 9 verses 14 and 18 explains that. Serving God should be a privilege rather than an occupation. Notice how none of the apostles or seventy were payed. In fact they were told to sell all there possessions and live a humble lifestyle. Show more Show less
