Hi I'm Kirk

Father of six. Small business owner. Computer Science major. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am recently re-married. We have six wonderful children between us, that are the center of our life! After fifteen years operating a small retail business, I am finishing a college degree in Computer Science. I program because it is what I love to do with my free time. I play card games, board games, video games ... Axis & Allies is my favorite. My kids range from 20 years old to ten months. I have an entrepreneurial streak and I hope to develop something exciting. I love being a Mormon. The peace. The joy. The happiness that the Gospel brings are essential to my life.

Why I am a Mormon

The Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know it. I have prayed and received confirmation from the Holy Ghost that struck through me. Having experienced unusual things it was difficult for me to see the truth of life when I was young. I was absent from church for eleven years while I searched the world for all the answers to my pain. It was only when I was humble enough to read with sincerity and real intent did the Prophets of the scriptures awaken me to a knowledge of the truth. I am a child of God. He loves me. And through the Atonement I am made free. I will come home to my heavenly family. And nothing in this world can ever take that love away from me. I wanted to be loved. I needed to be loved. And I found that love in the forgiveness and repentance of my sins. "I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me."

How I live my faith

I have been the Secretary in the Sunday School Presidency for the past several months. Before that I have served as an Assistant Scout Master, Ward Missionary and a host of other callings that I can't remember! We go to church, and we're often late, because wrangling three small children and myself is a challenge for my wife on Sunday mornings. I try to be an inspiration to others because I am so very grateful for the blessings of membership in the Church. We are each struggling on our own path, but how much better is it when someone recognizes our moment of need and steps in to help out? I want to serve others with the same blanket charity that was shown to me that revealed God's love to me.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Kirk
Everyone needs help at some point in their life. Some of us need financial help, emotional help, problem solving, career guidance, etc. The Church is a family. And families help one another. I am grateful to be able to help my Ward family, missionaries around the world, and others that have needs. When we help each other, we build better communities. I am proud to contribute and not ashamed of my needs. Show more Show less
