Hi I'm Astrid Merari Beltran

I am from Sinaloa Mexico, I'm 21 years old, I'm Serving a full time Mission in Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square :)

About Me

I love to dance, do outdoor activities, spend time with my family and close friends, explore new things, make people laugh, have daily adventures and always find service opportunities. I have been dancing since I was 6 yrs old I dance Mexican Folk Dance and I love it. It is the best way for me to express myself, to find myself more and to in some way feel connected to my Father in Heaven. I feel that God has placed on us unique and marvelous talents that will help His children to come closer to Him, that we can be an instrument in His hands to fulfill that. I enjoy the sunsets and appreciating the wonders that God has created for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Gospel of Jesus Christ has given meaning to my life, it has helped me understand more the purpose of the Atonement and how it can be applied to us individually, this is something that I was able to experience, it took me a long time to be able to know about it, but all the process it might have seam hard, alone and sometimes frustrating but I can truly say that it was worth it. Every little moment that I had to pass in order to come closer to Him I have hold it close to my heart. Something that brought great comfort in this time was knowing that God really wants to talk to us and He has provided ways for us to listen to Him and obtain answers. Knowing that God has call prophets again on Earth has been a big thing of why I hold on to my beliefs, to know that He will never change and that He wants to reach to us in His love and grace and that He has provided a plan for us were our love ones and us can come back to His presence and that we will see our love ones again it is a huge hope that has help to pass through and know that I am not alone.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by day by day seeking to applying the teaching of the Gospel in my life, that they can become a living style and see that this teachings are not just for the people I meet but they are also for myself. I have been able to grow in my faith by learning from the people around me, I was able to be in the primary group of the church as a teacher for 18 months - 3 yr old children, I was able to learn how teachable we have to be in other to accept the will of God and come back to His presence, working very close with the youth and participating with them in many events like EFY, specially to see how the youth of the church are very committed to make changes in their life style in order to be in harmony with the teachings of the Savior. I have decided to serve an 18 month mission to be able to give a little bit back of what He has given me, to Help people understand more of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and see the blessings that Heavenly Father has for them.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Astrid Merari Beltran
Serving a mission is a voluntary service and do not receive financial remuneration for their service. I also feel that it is an act of faith , courage and love for both God and for others , as you leave your home, your comfort , your family by serving God and others. At that time you learn to develop the pure love of Christ which is a selfless love is pure love, makes you a better person and helps you strive every day to be more like Christ. Show more Show less
