Hi I'm Kate

I grew up on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation in New York. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah and moved with my family to the same place that my father grew up on, when I was three years old. When I was the appropriate age, I attended the same school that my father did until I graduated high school. I even had some of the same teachers as him. When someone asked me if I was related to him I would always ask hesitantly, "... Why?" My dad was a character in school I learned. So did my brothers, all 5 of them. I am the only girl but I never minded. I grew up well and since I'm number three out of the bunch, I figured being the only girl cancels out the "middle child syndrome". I played a few different sports in school but my favorite was volleyball. I plan to go to college to become a doctor after I finish serving a volunteer mission for my church.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it has made me happy. Plain and simple. I've learned to really notice Heavenly Father's hand in my life and it's helped me live well and try to be the best person I can be.

How I live my faith

I've always had a love of little children and so when I was sixteen, my church did not have anyone to watch the little babies, so they asked me! I remained a volunteer in that capacity until the babies grew into toddlers and I was asked to work in the same classroom as them again. I taught a large group of 4-12 years old until I moved away to go to school and work in another state. I returned home and the leaders of my church asked if I would be willing to teach the newer members of the church family and the investigators. I have served in that area until today. Now I'm preparing to serve an eighteen month mission for my church.
