Hi I'm Gabriela Sepulveda

I grew up in Mcallen Texas. I am the second oldest of four children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love where I live. I grew up speaking spanish, was surrounded by humble, loving, hard working people. I was in band for six years and played the saxophone, and of course joined the marching band in high school! I wasn't jaw dropping good but I really enjoyed playing. I also love sports! I played volleyball, basketball, ran cross country and track for a couple of years, but basketball was my all time favorite! After graduating high school I attended BYU-I for only one semester because I received my mission call and will be entering the MTC during the second semester. I can honestly say that I really loved it there though and can't wait to go back when I return!

Why I am a Mormon

I've known this gospel pretty much my whole life, and I remember even as a little girl I felt that the things I was being taught were right, that it felt familiar, and made sense. This gospel teaches things that I have never heard anywhere else. Things of peace, hope, and everlasting happiness. It is a gospel that doesn't simply teach of the way Christ lived but that urges us to live as He did. To love others,to serve, love, forgive, have mercy, and to lift up. It is a gospel that constantly teaches that Heavenly Father knows us individually and loves us. It is a gospel that explains who were and what we were doing before we were born, what we are doing here on earth now, and what will happen after this life. It is a gospel that has a living prophet, that like prophets of old, speaks to Heavenly Father and tells us how He wants us to live in these days. I am a Mormon because I have learned of all these things as a young girl, have felt they were right, and prayed to God if it really was a true- I received my answer and cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

I try my best to fulfill my calling no matter what they are. While in the young women I served as first counselor to beehives, mia maids, and laurels and later as the president for the mia maids and laurels! I did different services projects with the youth, from building houses to delivering thanksgiving baskets to our struggling families. While in the relief society I was one of the teachers and also a visiting teacher. I did my best to prepare the lessons so that I could teach with the spirit and developed a love for the sisters I served. When the semester finished I came home and was the substitute chorister while a sister moved wards and someone had yet to be called. I loved it! I love the hymns and loved to see everyones faces as they sang! Callings really do build us up and help us see others as Heavenly Father sees them!
