Hi I'm Haley

I'm from Montana, USA. I love my family, learning new things, music, and the outdoors! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning new things about life. Life is amazing, and so full of discovery and joy! My family is everything to me. No matter how hard life gets, or how much we don't get along, I will always love them and appreciate the joy and stability they bring to life. I love music, everything from making it to listening to it to singing it. I also love the outdoors, and being from Montana I've had the opportunity to spend a lot of time outside!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints every Sunday. I didn't always want to go, but my parents were faithful and I'm grateful for their example in getting me to attend. Around age 16, I was finally "converted" myself. I had often reflected on why I went to church, and whether or not it really made a difference in my life. As I began to study the scriptures every day and pray to God every day, I found that the church did make a difference in my life. In fact, it made a HUGE difference! Not only did I have something "bigger than myself" to believe in, but in going to church and studying the words in the scriptures, I learned a lot about life and my existence here on earth. I learned about a man named Jesus Christ, the only human to ever live a perfect life of selflessness, service to others, and devotion to God. The more I learned about this man, the more I desired to become more like him. After all, you can't expect to make a difference in the world by trying to be like it! So, I would try to become more like Jesus in little ways. I tried to listen more to family and friends. It made my relationships with them stronger, and it made me happier to think less of myself. I tried to be more honest in my schoolwork. Sometimes I was the only one in class who didn't cheat on an assignment and got the lowest grade, but I felt at peace knowing I did what was right! So, I truly became a member of Jesus Christ's church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, as I lived the principles it taught for myself and noticed the improvement in quality of life that came from it. I'm a Mormon. I know it, I live it, and I love it!

How I live my faith

Recently, I finished my first year of college at Brigham Young University-Idaho, a school affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I loved it there! It was a hard experience for sure, but I met many great people that taught me how to be positive, be selfless, and to make the most out of life. Now, I am preparing to serve a mission for the church in Japan! I will serve for a year and a half before returning to school. I'm so excited to experience this new phase in my life. More than that, I am excited to serve other people on this earth, other children of God, and help them discover more joy out of life.
