Hi I'm Ruth Ann

I was born and raised in northern Utah. My husband, children, and grandchildren are my greatest treasures. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to the same lovable guy for 48 years now. We are the parents of six and the grandparents of twenty-one--our greatest treasures. I have lived in Utah my entire life. I was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom until my youngest child started school. Then, for the next twenty years, I worked with elementary students in a resource setting. Following retirement my husband and I have enjoyed volunteering our time and efforts in serving others. I enjoy music, reading, handwork, family history, scrapbooking, and temple service. I especially love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS faith. My parents were active, contributing members who took me to church each Sunday. Even as a young child I knew that God loved me. I have always believed that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ was true, but an experience I had as a young woman of fifteen years transformed that faith into unquestionable knowledge. My older brother was serving a mission in Peru at the time. One morning our family awoke to the news of a devastating earthquake in the area in which he was residing. Due to the lack of communicative technology in the 1960s, we had no means of contacting my brother to confirm his safety. Consequently my father gathered our family together to pray; and as he prayed, my bosom burned within me as the Spirit of the Holy Ghost spoke peace to my heart that my brother was well. All I could do was cry. Why? Because I had witnessed God's power and received personal revelation in a most remarkable way. And because of that sacred experience I knew without any doubt whatsoever that the things I had been taught were true! Living the gospel of Jesus Christ brings peace and comfort to my soul, especially in times of hardship and trials. It provides a safe path for me to follow in an increasingly troubled world. It assures me that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, His mercy and grace, that I can be forgiven of my sins and return to His presence. The restoration of the Priesthood with its accompanying ordinances has provided a way for me to be with my family (past, present and future) throughout all eternity. I can also make sacred covenants and be guided by living prophets. I KNOW these things are true, and so can you!

How I live my faith

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I believe all that I have and all that I am is due to a loving Heavenly Father. Consequently, it is out of my love for Him that I strive on a daily basis to follow the teachings and example of His Son, Jesus Christ, in being kind and serving others. Doing so has brought much joy and happiness into my life. Over the years I have worked with children, youth, and adults in many varied capacities. I have taught lessons, performed service, led groups and committees, conducted music, and been involved in missionary work. I attend my church services regularly, study my scriptures, and pray on a daily basis. Consequently, I have come to know, without reservation, that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, and that the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true.
