Hi I'm Judith

I am from South Africa, I am an aspiring humanitarian and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love reading, I don't have specific favourite genres but if its well written and has a great plot, I read it! I also love learning new languages. I am fluent in English and Zulu but I also know how to have basic communication in Sotho and Afrikaans. I have learnt a few small things about Spanish, French and now I'm currently taking an interest in Hebrew. But because I teach myself, I end up not mastering any of them unfortunately. I'm fascinated by human behaviour and how humans think and why they act in certain ways which is why I would like to study Psychology. I have been called to serve in the Uganda Kampala Mission and I leave July 2016. I'm very excited because meeting new people is one of the most amazing learning experiences.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives and it has definitely changed my life. I was baptised in 2013 and before that, I felt like something was amiss in my life. I couldn't put my finger on it because it wasn't something particulae but when the missionaries began to teach me, I felt the void slowly fill up. I am Mormon because I have found growth and spiritual edification in the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every single day I strive to be a better person because I've come to the realisation that God watches over me and He wishes the best for me. Before I became a member, I knew about God but He was a distant idea to me. Ever since I became a member, I finally understand the true nature of God and that He loves me very much. Nothing anyone says will ever take that knowledge away from me. Jesus Christ has proved to be the best example I could have in my life and because of the Atoning sacrifice that He did for me, I will seek for things that will lead me to be the best daughter I can be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to magnify my calling as a Family History Consultant. Whenever I can, I share some facts and information about the work of family history to member and non-member friends. I wear my Young Women necklace everywhere to remind myself that I am a daughter of God and my conduct must be able support that. I'm not perfect but I try my best to be kind to everyone that I meet and I always try to act in a way that the Savior would be proud of whenever things don't go well. I offer my time and my advice to anyone that may be in need of it because I believe that Heavenly Father creates appointments for us with other people and you will never know how well you can influence someone until you give of yourself.
