Hi I'm Chad Ryan Hurst

I'm an Eagle Scout. I have lost 100 lbs. I served in the California Roseville Mission. I love photography. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play the piano and sing. I'm so grateful that God gives us music, and the abilities to ourselves create such beauty. I really enjoy filming and editing. I find it a great way to show my appreciation for the beautiful world in which we live, as I capture moments of it and put it into a little masterpiece. I'm second oldest of three siblings: an older sister and two younger brothers, and I love them all so much. I'm an Eagle Scout, and served full-time in the California Roseville Mission from 2016 to 2018. I have lost 100 lbs., and I love being healthy because it makes me happy. I am currently a student at BYU-Idaho.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of Jesus Christ church everyday. It's a very conscious decision that I make. I have taken Christ's name upon myself, and as such, much is expected of me. God expects me to share the gospel because it brings true happines and peace. Because I have been so blessed to be on the receiving end of the gospel all of my life, I believe that I should be spending my life helping others come closer to Jesus Christ. The happiness in my home is continually achieved because we center our lives on the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. I also feel such great joy when I strive to keep all of the commandments. I know that God loves me and that He has a plan for me, that I am a part of His plan. Jesus Christ is our Heavenly Fathers plan and is the very means whereby we can be saved and His Kingdom, to live eternally as a heavenly family. I know that marriage and family is ordained of God, and that He wants us all to be with our families forever. I know the living prophet on the earth today teaches us all that we must do to live with God someday. I have prayed about the Book of Mormon and I know that it is true, and by reading its words and pondering the message it contains, I continually come to know of many truths, such as the ones I have shared here. As James directs, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God. God is the source of all truth, and I testify and promise that He hears and answers our prayers when we pray in faith.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through the things I do everyday. I strive to diligently pray and study the Book of Mormon, which truly is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is my earnest desire and prayerto daily seek and find opportunities to love, lift, serve, inspire, and minister to others. Everyone—regardless of age or any sort of status—is invited to partake of the wonderful fruits available in this glorious gospel of faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I hope that in all that I do and say, I may help those who seek the truth to find it. I live my faith by following the Master, our perfect Exemplar Jesus Christ.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Chad Ryan Hurst
Our Heavenly Father loves us so much, and He wants us to be able to have what He has, including a body, experience, and knowledge. These are some very important things we came down to this earth to obtain. We lived with God before this life, and with our ability to choose, we decided to accept further opportunities to exercise that agency by learning right from wrong. God also wants us to learn of Him and His Son, and would have us help others learn Who They are and what is required of us to return to live with Them someday. As we continually make righteous decisions, keeping the commandments and taking care of the physical and spiritual bodies we all have been blessed with, we can return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and our families for time and all eternity.
