Hi I'm Jacob Miller

I've grown up in Salt Lake City, Utah, I play lacrosse, I enjoy the outdoors: hiking, camping, skiing, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm about to embark on an LDS mission to serve in Seoul, South Korea. I played Soccer when I was younger, but my sophomore year of high school I started lacrosse and have loved it. I enjoy hiking, skiing, camping, and anything that I can get out into the open air and be in nature. I play lots of sports with my friends on weekends. After I return from South Korea I hope to go into international business up at Utah State and then travel out of state to receive an MBA

Why I am a Mormon

I originally was baptized when I was 8 years old, I believed in God and Jesus Christ, but not as much as I do now. At the ages 8-15 I believed in the church mainly because my parents did, I hadn't really searched for it myself. When I was about 17 years old I really wanted to know the truth and so I started to pray and genuinely ask for myself if the Book of Mormon were the words of God's prophets and the truth. As I diligently prayed and read the scriptures I came to a more clear understanding of the church and the Book of Mormon, the spirit has and continues to confirm to me that it is true. The Holy Ghost is more a feeling to me than anything else, I feel its' warmth resonate in my heart as a sign of truth and it comforts me. The happiness the church brings me is a magnification of the happiness I felt prior to gaining my testimony and now I just wish to share these emotions with everyone.

How I live my faith

Through the church I get to participate with people close to my age with similar beliefs and standard which make it easier for me to be the type of person I want to be. Through the direction of adults we get to participate in fun and uplifting activities. I also have the opportunity to home teach families which basically means that I get the opportunity to go share some life experiences with people in my neighborhood and give a brief little message to them once a month.
