Hi I'm Spencer Haderlie

I grew up in a U.S. Air Force family. I'm an Eagle Scout, an actor, and a singer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in twelve different places throughout my life as a military kid. In that time I've attended eleven schools. I've participated in sports, such as soccer, track, and football, as well as choir, band, and theatre programs. I love to sing and act. I've been in choirs across the nation, and achieved state recognition in North Dakota and Louisiana. I also achieved Actor of the Year in high school. Along with all of that, I earned my Eagle scout rank at the age of fifteen, graduated with honors, and am a member of the National Honors Society and the International Thespian Society. It hasn't been easy being in all these different places. I've dealt with loneliness and depression, but all these achievements and activities helped. I started working to save up some money to go on my mission. During that time, I was called to be the Bear Den Leader in my local cub scout pack. Later, I got my mission call to Independence, Missouri. Sadly, That was delayed because I tore my ACL playing soccer. After surgery and six months of physical therapy, I'm now a full time missionary, teaching others about Jesus Christ in the Missouri, Independence mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt of Heavenly Father's love, and because I know I am a child of God. There was a time where I wasn't sure I believed. When I was about twelve, I remember having doubts and questions come up that would make me pause and wonder if the Church was true. I remember being in a Sunday School class, and I don't remember what the lesson was on, but as we were talking and the lesson was being taught, a warm, comforting feeling came over me. As we were talking about the Gospel, this feeling grew, and I wasn't sure what it was at first, but then I realized this must be the Holy Spirit testifying to me that what I was being taught was true. Ever since then, I have had many experiences such as this that further testify of Jesus Christ and of the Book of Mormon. I have felt of Christ's love, and of God's love for me. Being a military kid, I've had times of loneliness and low self-confidence, but in those times, I've always been able to turn to the Lord, and feel of His love. I know that He loves all His children, and that He has provided a way for all His children to be with Him. I know that Jesus Christ suffered for the sins of the world. His atoning sacrifice made it possible for everyone to repent and return to our Heavenly Father. I know that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God, just like the Bible is. I know that there is a prophet of God on the earth today to guide and direct His children. This Church is the true church of Jesus Christ, and I say that in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

All through my life I've attended church meetings. As I grew up, I was called to my respective youth group leaderships. In these callings, I helped plan and carry out activities in Boy Scouts. I also participated in church choir often, singing for Easter and Christmas programs. I attended early morning seminary all four years of high school, where we were taught all about the scriptures. I also was a member of the Boy Scouts, providing service to all the communities i've lived in. Most recently, I was a Den Leader for the Cub Scout pack, providing leadership and guidance to the kids on the program. I'll continue to live my faith by serving a full-time mission for the LDS Church.
