Hi I'm Jared

From Melbourne Australia. Called to Serve a Full-time Mission. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Preparing to serve a voluntary full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, called to the country of the Philippines, Cebu East Mission. Ethnic background is Filipino, family moved to Australia in 1995.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up attending church every Sunday, I myself had not a strong testimony of what "Mormonism" was. Did not have many friends that I could relate to in school or even in Sunday school classes that would help me strengthen my belief. Only with the help of my mother who raised me according to the standards of the church did I rely heavily on the testimony she had. But having Faith in what the Church stood for, I continued to hold on a bit longer to having believe that this church was in fact true and I slowly learned that through my own experiences and reading the Book of Mormon. Learning and living the gospel that the Church teaches helped me realise the great positive impact it had in my life. The word of wisdom was something I kept and stood firmly with. Living the word of wisdom did really define what a 'Mormon' was to me and the high standards we have which cannot be seen quite often in today's society. Through these experiences of keeping the standards of the church strengthened my testimony and how it has greatly changed who I am as a person in this world and as a child of God.

How I live my faith

Calling in the Church as a 'Faith in God' leader, and teacher in the Primary. In preparation for my upcoming mission I often attend programs such as Seminary and Institute and often teach along with the missionaries within the ward. I do my best to live the gospel and letting my light so shine before friends and family members not of my faith.
