Hi I'm Jorgianna

I love to read, garden, sew and teach. I have been married 46 years. I am the mother of 10. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My fondest dream as a child was to become a mom. When I married I thought it would be easy, but I struggled with infertility. Eventually we had five biological children, 4 boys and 1 girl. I was not finished so we became foster parents of a sibling group of 5 girls. Now after raising these children we are getting ready for our Senior Mission. I have planted a garden this year that I will not harvest, because we will be on the field of service. I have packed up my many sewing machines and hundreds of yards of fabric and put them in storage. I'll take with me two machines and only enough fabric to cushion my machines. I eat a plant based diet so we will have to cook our way across the country. We are world travelers because of my husbands service in the Military. We have loved every country we have visited, and every state we've lived. I look forward to our mission in Santa Rosa, California. Charles Bain and I are a cute couple. I play straight man to his silliness.

Why I am a Mormon

I could have left the Gospel when I married Charles, but I knew it was the wrong thing to do. I knew what was right and made a conscious choice to follow my faith. He joined the church a year after we married. Off and on I was inactive, I struggled with his inactivity, but my not going only made me sad. So I chose to go even if I was alone. I chose to take our very active son, even if he willingly watched him at home, eventually he found his way back to the Gospel and we were sealed to each other 7 years after we married. That was the happiest day of my life. I know the Church is true and I know our Savior died for us, Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God, and flawed as I am I am a Daughter of God. I am not happy away from these truths.

How I live my faith

When I was 13, I went to my Bishop and told him I thought it was time for me to get a calling in the Primary. I became a Sunbeam teacher. My service and callings give me so much joy I know they have helped to keep me strong in the Gospel. I worked in the primary for 45 years, as well as the Sunday School and have loved being a Ward Librarian for the past 7 years. At 12 I started doing Genealogy. I worked to gather information on my family tree until I married at 17 then I worked on his family tree, because he being a convert had very little information on his line, Now we work together, he on his family, me on mine, we both love it. We have been trained in the Genealogy Library and though we have not done it long we can help others to work on their family history
