Hi I'm Ashton

I love my family. I love being a missionary. I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in Illinois for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Family, friends, and faith are among the most important things in my life. I love being able to share what my Heavenly Father has given me with others. The most fulfilling thing we can do in this life is serving others and since being a missionary I have grown to love serving. I am an outdoors man in every sense of the word. Climbing, mountain biking, boating, hunting, camping, and backpacking are some of my favorite things to do, to name a few. I LOVE LIFE!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and I have found it to be the word of God. I have personally seen the affects of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and that is why I am a Mormon. This is not simply another group to join, this truly is real, and this truly brings you closer to God and brings happiness in your life if you let it. I love this Gospel and I have a testimony of the restored Priesthood of God and of modern day prophets and apostles. I am grateful for my testimony of the restoration of this Gospel and for the prophet Joseph Smith and for the Book of Mormon. I leave you this, my solemn testimony, that Jesus is the Christ, and that through His infinite Atonement we can all be saved by living His Gospel.

How I live my faith

Once we realize we are nothing, we become everything. This is a motto that I love and have tried to live by throughout my life. Our Savior was the ultimate example of humility and service and I hope that I can emulate what He has taught me. When we truly forget ourselves and serve our fellow men we can find pure and lasting happiness. There are two types of happiness in life, the kind that happens to us, and the kind that happens inside of us. The latter is the one that lasts and that only comes through service. It is in the little things that we can notice the biggest differences in ourselves. When we smile at someone whose hands hang low, when we show gratitude, and when we give a second chance to those who feel that they have no more, that is what He did and what we should do too. God intended us to be happy so that is what I try to do, BE HAPPY!
